Community Bank Named A.J. "Toche"
Terrones Business of the Year!
Community Bank of Elmhurst received the A.J. “Toche” Terrones Business of the Year Award for 2013 at the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s 95th Annual Awards Gala held at the Waterford Banquet & Conference Center on Friday, January 31.
The first two-time Business of the Year honoree, Community Bank of Elmhurst was the award’s inaugural recipient back in 1999. CBE is headquartered at 330 West Butterfield Road and has an Elmhurst City Centre branch at 133 North York Street.
The annual award is given based on a member’s contributions to the Chamber’s success, to the betterment of both the business community and Elmhurst community, and impact in their field of business, each in the given year and historically, along with years in business and years as a Chamber member.
“Community Bank of Elmhurst has been as loyal as any of our hundreds of long-time Chamber members during its two decades in hometown banking,” said John Quigley, the Chamber President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since 1999.
Community Bank of Elmhurst is the sponsor and host for both the Chamber’s Annual “State of Our City” Mayoral Address Membership Breakfast each January and Holiday Business After Hours each December, and is the naming sponsor for the Board of Directors Conference Room at the Chamber office.
CBE officers have regularly served as Directors and green-coated Ambassadors.
The award presentation was made by Outgoing Chairman of the Board of Directors Paul Koch and Quigley. Joining them in the award presentation were representatives of York Furrier (107 North York Street), the 2012 Business of the Year recipient. York Furrier will receive an acrylic Business of the Year plaque to put on display at its Elmhurst City Centre location.
The annual award, which features a traveling trophy and permanent plaque, is named in memory of A.J. “Toche” Terrones, who served as Chamber President for nearly a decade until his death in July of 1999.
