A few months back, Community Bank of Elmhurst President & CEO, Rich Reichert, and a few other folks created the concept of ‘Respect Elmhurst’. It asked individuals and businesses to consider a simple pledge to: LISTEN to differing opinions, TREAT others kindly, REFRAIN from practices intended to hurt others, OPEN our minds to consider other viewpoints and ALLOW others to share their views with mutual RESPECT. The pledge can be made via Facebook, Instagram, emailed to respectelmhurst@gmail.com or mailed to Respect Elmhurst, 242 N. York, Unit 330, Elmhurst, IL 60126.

The pledge was an idea to alter negative commentary across Elmhurst and encourage openness and civility. Those who pledge are listed as a way of enlisting others. So far, some 239 pledges have been made and regular messaging is ongoing. Quite a positive statement for our Elmhurst Community!

Take a look at the site and maybe you will pledge as well. I am POSITIVE you will be impressed.
