Very soon three areas of Elmhurst’s City Centre will be home to the new and exciting “Umbrella Sky Project”. The public art displays will be located at the Schiller Court site, between York Street and Addison Avenue, at Elmhurst 255 and at 105 S. Cottage Hill Avenue near the Elmhurst Public Library. The displays feature more than 750 colorful, suspended, umbrellas providing a beautiful addition to all three areas in Elmhurst. First created in Portugal in 2012, the Umbrella Sky Project is something extraordinary for our community.

The City’s Public Arts Commission and Elmhurst City Centre have partnered to bring you these wonderful displays. CBE is the banking sponsor of the Schiller Court location and a grand opening event is being planned for Saturday, April 29th between 4:00 & 7:00 p.m. in the City Centre fountain area. Music, refreshments and fun await all who attend. Plan to stop at the CBE tent and say hello.

It’s safe to say that the Umbrella Sky Project has all of us “covered” as we enter our seasonal weather ahead in 2023.
