We knew that this could happen...

It’s looking like the upcoming holidays will be tough. With the pandemic raging, authorities are strongly suggesting that we “find ways” to celebrate either remotely or in very small numbers.

We knew that this could happen.

We are hearing about “Zoomsgiving” and “Thankszooming” and those may work for some. FaceTime too. Or, maybe an old-fashioned telephone call could also work. The point is, the holidays have not been called off, but they will certainly look and feel different.

Thanksgiving has always been a favorite holiday for me. I like the simplicity of it which lends itself to being more personal than some other holidays. I don’t like what is being asked of us, but I understand it. It’s up to us to make the most of it as we have been doing since this all began months ago. So, cook your turkey, make that pie, lock in on those football games, just without the same crowd you would prefer. But, add a reach out to those unable to be with you to make sure they are managing to celebrate too.

We knew that this could happen.

I just hope I don’t have to write about “Zoommas” or “Christzooming” in a few weeks.
