With Easter 2021 just a few weeks ago, I was thinking about our collective COVID ‘non-holidays’. We have had many of these dating back to March of 2020. Holidays or memorable events that we have ‘not had’ in our usual ways. So, which ones have been missed the most? A personal choice, certainly, but overall, which have created the greatest stress of loss on you. Choices abound:

  • Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easters, Fourth of July, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduations, Birthdays, Weddings, Baptisms, Funerals, Vacations, St. Patrick’s Days, Memorial Day, Anniversaries.
  • You will have things to add to this list on your own.

As we look forward to beyond the pandemic, we can’t allow ourselves not to remember our losses. Not so much for the losses themselves, but to remember to cherish events that we enjoy in the future that much more.
