Elmhurst is fortunate in having interested and involved citizens at all levels. Both public and private ways exist in our community to make a difference and be a part of our City…present and future.

The City has seventeen citizen commissions within its governmental framework. These commissions are vital to our City and how it works for all of us. On these seventeen commissions approximately 250 individuals participate without any type of compensation. These volunteers give of their time and expertise in advisory and decision-making roles. It is a great example of shared governance with our elected
officials and professional staff.

Five members of our extended CBE Family are among these volunteers and we thank them. Should you wish to become involved, please contact the City and ask about commission service.
